Is it ok if I post my pictures tomorrow? The roads were really bad and my mom didn't let me go around..

Ideas cont..
This weekend I am going to go out around here and seminole and look for abandoned homes and places to take pictures of. What I have in mind is kind of hard to explain, but I want to create a weird looking series of photos that do not even look like they are part of this world. I want dark things that look like people were there, but because they are gone.. It has gone to crap. See? Kind of hard to explain.

Ideas
I really want to focus on abandonment around town in neighborhoods that are not being taken care of. I want to create a mystical feel that creates a kind of fear. I want to find chipped paint and wandering weeds and roots to create a series of photographs.

New Blog
Now that I have a blog, I am very excited! I spent most of the class period today trying to get my stuff posted, but I am going to start some sketches. I want to focus on abandoned homes.
Rule of Thirds
I thought I posted from my phone last night, but apparently not.
subject is clear. no distraction |
colors and placement of main subject make the photo clear and pleasing |
horizon is on imaginary line and subject (tree) is on right |
eye is drawn to light on point of intersection |
subject on right and is clear |
subject is clear on left |
eye is drawn to gold on a point of intersection |

Rule of Thirds Project
Bad Examples
Good Examples
Bad: the subject is right in the middle |
Bad: there is nothing to lead the eye |
Bad: eye is drawn to the middle |
Good: the eye is drawn to the main subject with very little distraction |
Good: the sky is not distracting so it leads the eye to the points of interest: the flags |
Good: subject is on one side rather than the middle |
Good: eye is drawn to point of interest |
Good: this is the best example in my opinion. the subject is exactly on the imaginary intersections. |

Rule of Thirds
The Rule of thirds is one of the most important rules in photography, although it can sometimes be broken. The idea of the rule of thirds is that an image is broken into thirds both horizontally and vertically, splitting the image into nine parts. If you put your points of interest and your subject on these imaginary lines because people's eyes are naturally drawn to these areas. The rule of thirds is a helpful tool to use, but sometimes, depending on how you want to compose your photo, is not completely necessary.
